Carla Schaffer: Artist

Carla Schaeffer is a West Cape May artist that creates three dimensional art, including assemblages, mosaics, ceramics, and jewelry, and finds joy in incorporating vintage found objects into her work.  Her unique found art mosaic bouquets are meticulously assembled using vintage treasures that she is attracted to, and her love of gardening and anything floral, natural, or botanical is reflected in almost every piece. 

By using vintage materials, she is able to integrate her passion for florals with her love of art, antiques, collecting, and upcycling.  She especially enjoys using objects that remind the viewer of their personal history or relationships, such as an antique frame, a mother’s china pattern, or a favorite piece of jewelry. 

For Carla, creating art is a healing process that challenges her brain and heals her soul; a meaningful component in what has, in recent years, been a difficult journey through life.  She has developed her skills as an artist through workshops with various local, regional, and nationally known ceramic and  mosaic artists.  Visit Carla’s website here.
